In order to promote mental wellness and tackle the negative stereotypes surrounding mental health issues, helloworld has teamed up with Bring Change To Mind, a non-profit organization focused on tackling the negative perceptions and stereotypes associated with mental health issues, especially among Gen Z. By leveraging the organization’s resources and expertise, helloworld aims to raise awareness and promote mental wellness in his community while also supporting the crucial work done by Bring Change To Mind by raising funds for the organization through various activations centered around the release of their EP.
Discussing the EP, helloworld said, “‘things I wanna text u’ is a collection of tracks that illustrates my journey of emotion through heartbreak. Through this process, I’ve felt everything. From excitement and joy to sadness and depression to resentment and anger to more excitement and joy. When writing these songs, I was trying to find the perfect words to say for every one of those stages in my healing process – words that could resonate with someone who might be going through the same thing. Through this time, I have really gotten to know myself more. I started to take my mental health really, really seriously. Over time, I’ve come to really love the person I am and what I have to say.”
One of these stages of heartbreak is translated into the song “sorry,” which helloworld describes as the ‘I’m not gonna take any more shit from you’ song. It represents a turning point in his healing process and a time when he began to feel more confident in himself again.
helloworld ends the EP on a positive note with “no matter how this ends i’ll be just fine,” a gentle reminder that in the end, everything will work out the way it is supposed to. In the song, helloworld shares: “I can’t think of a better way to end this collection of music than something that conveys that. From rock bottom, to anger, to moving on – acceptance comes last. This song to me is more of a reminder to myself than anything. It’s just something i need to hear sometimes.”
Throughout his career, helloworld has refused to be limited by genre and has consistently pushed boundaries with his unique sonic perspective. ‘things i wanna text u’ is no exception and showcases his talent for exploring a range of emotions through his music.
