Christine and the Queens has released his soothing new single “A day in the water”, taken from his upcoming album, PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE, out this Friday, June 9th. The ballad is accompanied by a Vevo Studio Performance which highlights Chris’s soulful vocals and leaves listeners with an ethereal sonic experience. Watch the video now below.
Chris shares of the track, “The song is about that feeling of being deep in the water when you feel the world cannot touch you anymore. It’s behind the glass of your own melancholia but in that deep dive of vulnerability hopefully the light arrives. The light of honesty.”
An exhibition of Chris’s dynamic vocals in concert with his and Mike Dean’s thrilling orchestration, the album’s debut single “To be honest”, was hailed by Pitchfork as “dazzlingly grand.” Chris delivered an outstanding live performance of the track on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE is written, performed, and produced by Christine and the Queens, with co-production by Mike Dean (Lana Del Rey, Beyonce). The album will feature guest appearances from powerhouses Madonna and 070 Shake.
Christine and the Queens performed two electrifying sets at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and a sold-out show at The Fonda Theater in Los Angeles. Christine and the Queens is in the midst of an international tour and recently announced a limited 6-city North American tour which will kick off on the East Coast on October 17th in Philadelphia and wrap up on October 26th in Chicago. In addition to this, Chris will headline festivals like Primavera in Barcelona, Roskilde in Denmark and C6 Fest in Brazil. See below for a full list of dates.
