Nashville-based indie-rock/pop band, Parrotfish have teamed up with Callaway Martin for their collaborative new single, “Cold Inside“, out today via Lowly. The upbeat summer bop is more than just a vibey sing-along song, touching on themes of connection, loneliness, and indecisiveness alongside infectious vocals and energetic guitar. It depicts a character that is isolating himself in his room feeling lonely and hungry for connection. He tries to cure these feelings by going out with his friends, only to feel the same as he did before. Ultimately he’s left with the choice to stay stuck in the limbo between going out and staying in, or simply let go and vibe no matter what he’s doing. Listen to it now below.
Parrotfish have become synonymous for their contagious energy displayed throughout their discography and their latest sonic effort is no different. The new record is edgy and raw and features the band’s signature brand of cutting edge soundscapes while touching on a subject with a deeper meaning.
The new single follows “Hitchhiking” and “The Implication” as 2023 singles. Parrotfish recently landed their first high profile editorial playlist cover when they landed on the cover of Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds Rock’ playlist. The playlist promises to highlight the best and brightest up-and-coming independent rock acts and the cover and #1 playlist position only further cements Parrotfish as ones to watch moving forward.
