Monstercat producer, musician, and singer-songwriter Grabbitz has unveiled his new single, “Hero” today. The track marks the first taste of his upcoming album, Let Them Only See Butterflies, effortlessly blending midtempo basslines with an alluring alt-electronic edge, showcasing his genre-bending virtuosity. An enticing glimpse into the self-written, self-produced, and self-recorded forthcoming album, “Hero” sees Grabbitz rekindle his connection with electronic elements, a theme woven throughout the package. Listen to it now below.
Grabbitz shares, “I recently became re-inspired by what got me into electronic music in the first place: my first two EPs on Monstercat. There was something about a cinematic, continuous, electronic piece that drew me back in that direction. However, after much evolution as an artist, this time I was able to put a whole new spin on it.”
From “Someone Else” with REZZ peaking at #1 in Canada and #12 in the U.S. Alternative charts, to “Let Go” with deadmau5 peaking at #11 on Billboard’s ‘Hot Dance/Electronic Songs’ chart, and official remixes and collaborations with ILLENIUM, Zedd, Subtronics, Excision, Dabin, Peekaboo, Underoath, and OneRepublic to name a few, Grabbitz continues to solidify himself as an innovative and boundary-pushing artist across the electronic and alt-rock scenes. His record “Die For You” was crafted for the VALORANT World Championship in 2021, and since has amassed over 100 million streams and an official remix from Zedd, who invited Grabbitz to perform it on stage with him. ‘Let Them Only See Butterflies’ will follow his 14 million streamed LP, ‘Time Isn’t Real,’ which includes the Top 25 Alternative hit, “Pigs In The Sky.” He’s graced the stages of renowned festivals and venues including Lollapalooza, Lost Lands, Red Rocks, The Brooklyn Mirage, and others, with captivating performances to fans and newcomers alike.
For nearly a decade, Grabbitz has grown to be one of Monstercat’s most innovative artists, leaving an impactful mark on the label with his unwavering passion for evolving sounds beyond electronic horizons and writing deeply relatable music. From his debut on the label in 2014 with “Here With You Now,” to collaborating with Monstercat artists such as Sullivan King and Tisoki, his ability to blend and transform his sound continuously demonstrates his seamless craft that has garnered an ever-growing dedicated fan base around the world. Fans can catch “Hero” and new album tracks from Grabbitz live during his headline tour, kicking off this August. He will head to venues including Liquid in Madison, WI, Cervantes in Denver, CO, and a hometown stop in Buffalo at Town Ballroom. In between the run, he will make his way to festivals such as Bass Canyon, Lost Lands, and others.
