Emerging sibling duo, Durry are attempting to answer an age-old question with their new single, “I’m Fine (No Really).” Unpacking the deep-seated emotions that we conceal when someone asks us how we’re doing, the beautifully angsty anthem arrives alongside a music video which finds the duo rocking out alongside an army of mini-mes. Though it may be the question we’re asked most often, it is usually met with a placative “I’m fine” in lieu of the truth. Much like the feelings the song represents, the production is deceptively upbeat in an attempt to conceal the turbulent sentiments expressed in its lyrics.
On the inspiration behind the track, Durry explain, “You know when somebody says they’re fine, but their eyes are screaming otherwise? This is the song their eyes are screaming. Possibly the world’s most common lie, I’m Fine (No Really) is an upbeat barn-burner with dark undertones and a surprising amount of screaming.”
“I’m Fine (No Really)” is taken from the band’s debut album, Suburban Legend, out September 8 via Big Pip Records and Thirty Tigers. In support of the album, the duo is set to hit the road this fall for the Suburban Legend Tour. The 25-stop run is the band’s first time back on the road since their sold-out tour in 2022 and will include performances at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, Racket in New York City, and Lincoln Hall in Chicago.
