Lawsy Drops New Project, “Lawsy Pick Up”

    Lawsy Pick Up

Breakout singer-rapper, Lawsy has delivered his irresistible new project, Lawsy Pick Up today via Listen To The Kids/Geffen Records. Packed with ferocious rhymes and more than a little of his signature “Sexxnb,” the banger-filled release showcases a newcomer growing into their artistry — complete with an innate knack for delivering hooks, catchy chorus, and clever wordplay.

About the project the artist expands, “Lawsy Pick Up” has been my tag on every song since I was 12 so creating a body of work around it was something I always wanted to do. No samples, no features, just me & sexxnb. I’m excited to keep evolving as an artist & pushing an original sound.”

The project kicks off with “Talk 2 U,” a moody track about lust and infatuation. “Look me in the eyes and tell me I am the one,” Lawsy raps over a hazy R&B beat laced with harp and wavering synths. “Left hand on her ass, right hand on my gun.” The breakout star demonstrates his versatility on the funky “Alone,” which finds him quipping: “Who is you calling when you feel alone, baby? It better be me, baby.”

Other standouts on Lawsy Pick Up include the racy Sexxnb anthem “Telephone,” R&B throwback “Notes,” introspective, borderline romantic “Text From You,” and mellow after-hours number “Callin Ya.” The project follows on the heels of Lawsy’s recent singles “So Many Reasons,” “27 GH,” and “Giddy Up.” With each new release, the rising artist shows a different facet of his prodigious talent.

Though he’s only been releasing music for a short time, EPs like Grown Hoes and Rich Drug Addict underline Lawsy’s relentless work ethic and bold creativity — qualities that rocked the SoundCloud world with his infectious productions and irreverent lyricism. Last year, Lawsy was selected as one of YouTube’s Artists on the Rise and reached the Top 150 of Shazam searches. This summer, he was included in The Hollywood Reporter’s illustrious 18 and Under Club.

Now, with Lawsy Pick Up, Lawsy unleashes a collection of tracks bursting with swagger, sly charm, and eclectic production flourishes.
