Global chart-topping duo Icona Pop are back with another pulsating summer single, “Fall In Love,” alongside an official music video, directed by Kassandra Powell and filmed on location in the UK. The single will appear on Icona Pop’s highly anticipated second studio album CLUB ROMANTECH, which is set for arrival on September 1 via Ultra Records / Iconic Sound Recordings / TEN Music Group.
Speaking about the track, Icona Pop reveal, “‘Fall In Love’ is about that moment when you fall sooo hard for someone it’s almost like hitting a wall; you get all dizzy and almost lose touch with the ground and can’t focus on anything else. The track is kind of an experiment for us to play around with our poppier side; we wanted to play around with mixing up our lyrics, but approach the melody almost like you would with a sample, except it’s just us singing.”
The latest track to be released off their forthcoming sophomore studio album, CLUB ROMANTECH, ‘Fall In Love’ follows recent releases, ‘Desire,’ a collaboration with multi BRIT-nominated DJ/producer Joel Corry and breakout UK house & UKG producer outfit, Rain Radio and ‘Where Do We Go From Here,’ which appeared on Pitchfork’s Weekly Playlist with Rolling Stone lauding it as “a catchy dose of Europop as the pair sing in unison over dizzying beats,” and V Magazine praising it as “equal parts eclectic and pop perfection,” with Billboard hailing it “a simmering club track that refuses to relent for even a second,” leading NYLON to proclaim, “Icona Pop’s dance anthems are next to none when it comes to having fun at the club.”
Also included on the album, are recently released tracks ‘Shit We Do For Love’ (with Yaeger) (LISTEN), ‘Faster’ (LISTEN), and ‘I Want You’ with Galantis (LISTEN), as well as previously released songs ‘You’re Free’ (with Ultra Naté), ‘Off Of My Mind’ with VIZE (LISTEN), ‘SPA’ with SOFI TUKKER (WATCH), and ‘Feels In My Body’ (WATCH).
Speaking about the album, Caroline observes, “As Icona Pop, we can release a pop tune or a super hard dance song, and that’s who we are. When we started to write this album, we didn’t have any rules. We just had a vision we wanted to share with our fans. We’re inviting them into our world.”
“We put all of our problems and stress into what we’re doing,” Aino adds. “We love disguising our heartbreaks and sadness in uplifting songs you can dance to. It was a very emotional process, and it’s all in the music.”
