Nashville based artist, Taylor Acorn has announced her new EP, Certified Depressant, out September 22nd via ONErpm. In celebration of the announcement, she has enlisted fellow vocal powerhouse and co-writer Cassadee Pope to breathe new life into her latest single, “Coma”. Having both removed their rose-colored glasses, the two songwriters connected over finally seeing the true colors of their past toxic relationships. The track, also co-written with Dan Swank (All Time Low), showcases Taylor and Cassadee’s masterful vocals while highlighting the singers’ respective roots in the scene. Together, they’ve learned to confront the past, come into their own, and open themselves to new beginnings.

Speaking on the track and collaboration, Taylor shares, “‘Coma’ is about the awakening out of a toxic relationship, feeling free but also almost unrecognizable from the person you were when you were in it (kind of like you were in a coma). ‘Coma’ was written with Cassadee Pope as a co-writer and I’ve also been a huge fan of hers since Hey Monday. I thought it would add a really awesome element if she was to put her own spin on it as well, so that’s what we did!”

“Writing ‘Coma’ with Taylor and Dan Swank was one of the most easy going, natural sessions I’ve ever done,” adds Cassadee. “The dynamic was really special and I loved getting to write for someone else’s project, especially Taylor who I’m such a fan of. When she asked me if I would sing on a new version of the song, I immediately said yes because it really is one of my favorite songs out right now. I’ve experienced what the lyric talks about and feel very connected to it.”

Earlier this week, Taylor also announced her FIRST Fall East Coast headlining tour. Beginning Wednesday, November 8th in Toronto, ON at The Garrison, the tour will make stops across the East Coast in Pittsburgh, Chicago, New York, Columbus and Atlanta before wrapping up in Nashville on Friday, November 17th at The East Room. General on-sale begins today at 10 AM local time. All dates can be found below.

Growing up in the early 90’s & 2000’s pop punk/ pop rock scene, for Taylor Acorn it was never a phase. Hailing from the small North Central Pennsylvania town of Wellsboro, Taylor had always dreamed of a career in music and in 2014, dropped out of Kutztown University to pursue just that, setting her sights for Nashville in 2017.

With her infectiously relatable releases of “Do That Again”, “In My Head” and “Shapeshifting”, Taylor is now leaving her own footprint in the pop punk community giving her fans a place to feel safe and to feel heard, by tackling tough subjects such as mental health by sharing her own personal struggles. She wants to give her listeners a space where they can feel free and vulnerable, a place where healing is accepted no matter who you are or where you’ve come from.
