Powerhouse singer and songwriter, Camylio has released his vulnerable new single, “strangers” today. Arriving alongside a new video, he track paves the way for the arrival of his anxiously awaited new EP, before we say goodbye out October 6th. Watch the video now below.
On the song, Camylio says, “‘strangers’ is a soft goodbye at the end of a tragic story. Optimism that one day you’ll both believe that this was for the best. The unsettling reality that very soon you will once again be ‘strangers.’ This song is hope for the future seen through the dreary lens of the present.”
The song’s soft and sparse piano sets the tone, as Camylio’s vocals bottles the feeling of moving on in an emotional ballad. Coming to terms with the end of a relationship in real-time, he confesses, “The truth is you and I make better strangers.” In the accompanying video, he wanders the beach alone in between setting fire to old photos and letters, giving form to a gut-wrenching breakup on-screen.
Speaking about the upcoming EP, he said, “These songs are a failing relationship, the stages of falling out of love, and dealing with the consequences. Heartbreak doesn’t happen overnight, there’s a beginning, a middle, and an end.”
