Singer/songwriter/guitarist, Emily Wolfe has releases her new single, “Dead End Luck,” taken from her upcoming album, The Blowback, out October 20th, 2023 via Crows Feet Records/The Orchard. The track finds Emily Wolfe at her alt-rock best; carried by distorted guitars, powerful vocals, and catchy melodies, it showcases her expert songwriting ability. Adding another dimension to the tune, she taped a microphone to a remote control car, catching guitar feedback from different angles of the room and infusing “Dead End Luck” with fuzz in surround sound.
Emily explains, “‘Dead End Luck’ was written after I had a terrible day. It was one of those days where nothing seemed to go right, and the harder the day became, I developed a fierce rebellion towards my defeated headspace.”
The Blowback will be Emily’s first album since the release of 2021’s Outlier which was celebrated by fans and critics alike, receiving praise from publications like American Songwriter, Guitar World, Parade Magazine, and Atwood Magazine who said, “Outlier is a dynamic and energetic frenzy finely balancing chaos with artistic control.”
The new 10-track album is entirely produced by Emily herself, adding an even more personal element to the record. Emily says, “Producing The Blowback is one of the most thrilling experiences I’ve ever had,” she states. “I’d learned so much from past producers like Michael Shuman (Queens of the Stone Age), and I was ready. For me, this whole chapter is about owning your spirit.”
Emily has become widely celebrated for her guitar playing which landed her two signature guitars with Epiphone / Gibson. The newest edition to the Emily Wolfe signature guitar line, the White Wolfe was announced earlier this summer. Prior to that Epiphone / Gibson released the Sheraton Stealth, released in 2021.
In addition to her skillfully crafted recorded music, Emily has generated excitement for her live performance as well, touring with artists like The Gaslight Anthem and Neal Francis. Emily is currently on a US tour that will take her into 2024.
