Brooklyn based band, The Sees have released their debut single, “The Calling”. The track is taken from the band’s just announced forthcoming record, Conversations With My Future Self, out November 17th. Pushing the boundaries of sonic territory amongst various genres, The Sees have opened the floodgates with “The Calling.” Swelling with instrumental breakdowns and layered sounds, the atmospheric piece takes listeners on a high speed journey deep under the sea, to the stillness that’s calling us to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
This iridescent track is just the start of The Sees’ transcendent and melodic sound. The four piece have already mastered the art of storytelling that can be heard on their upcoming concept album, which illustrates a reflection of how precious time is in a society where it’s always fleeting, reminding listeners to stay in the present moment while also touching upon themes ranging from global reflection, oneness, time travel (in the romantic sense) and more.
“You never know until you put in the work what will come out the other side, but something has been speaking to me all along that telling me this is where I needed to be” shares frontman Jamie DiTringo. “I was cautiously optimistic after our initial jams that we had something special, I couldn’t be happier with what we have accomplished in such a short amount of time.“
The record tells its story through a whirlwind of textures, rhythms and styles that push the boundaries of genre and explores fresh perspectives, outgrowing the old and stepping into the now.
The introspective adventures on Conversations With My Future Self aims to lead listeners towards the belief that hope, love and the future can shine brightly if you see it in a new light.
