Halifax-based producer Cloverdale has released his new single, “DOPE” via Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION imprint. The new track finds Cloverdale continuing to blur the lines between house and techno with his signature high-octane style in which energy reigns supreme.
Speaking about the song, Cloverdale stated, “This track was the first track I wrote at the start of 2024. I wanted to start the year with a fresh slate and a tune that was 100 percent the sound I’ve been loving lately: this European-influenced, faster 140 bpm high octane rave music. This one came together super quickly, with the classic rave sounds feeling so strong and the vocal adding so much energy—everything fell into place just right. I tested it out live a couple times and the response has been huge. I think folks are excited to hear something new and I’m stoked to deliver.”
The new single marks Cloverdale’s 5th appearance on Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION offshoot, following his collaborative 3-track Looking Back EP with Eleganto. He recently played a headline slot at MTL En Lumiere Festival, has an upcoming co-headline night with Tres Mortimer at Soundcheck D.C, a headline set at Parc Jean-Drapeau, and a gig at Warehouse215.
