Buzzing alt-pop phenomenon Livingston has released his upbeat, uplifting new single “Look Mom I Can Fly” today via Republic Records. “Look Mom I Can Fly” revolves around a bold drum groove and hypnotic claps. Flexing his towering range, the singer, songwriter, and producer’s verses give way to a chantable chorus, “Make me believe I’m gonna reach the clouds, ‘cause I just wanna feel alive, look mama I can fly!”
About the track, Livingston said, “This song is what it felt like to look at the world with wonder again. I get so caught up in moving forward that I forget how much magic there is in the little moments of life. This song really fights against that part of me that’s trying to grow up and be realistic—and it’s a reminder of how important it is to hold on to my inner child despite what the world throws at me. I hope it can do the same for other people, wherever they’re at on their journey.”
It lands in the wake of his single “Gravedigger,” which has already amassed over 10 million streams in just two months. Earning critical acclaim, HITS professed, “His ability to connect with and inspire listeners has fueled his rise as a standout alt-pop artist,” and Melodic Magazine applauded how, “By sharing some of the darker times that plague him and transforming them into moments of triumph, Livingston has been able to empower listeners and remind them that they do not have to go through the bad times alone.” After teasing “Gravedigger” online himself alongside fan captured videos, the sold-out crowds on his recent debut headline tour this summer responded immediately with impassioned sing-alongs.
Livingston’s brand of world-building pop remains unrivaled, and it continues to captivate from the stage. He sold out his North American and European/U.K. headline “A Hometown Odyssey Tour” earlier this summer, which marked his first ever tour. Next up, he returns to the road this month for Part 2 of his U.S. headline run. It kicks off on October 28th in Tampa, FL at The Orpheum, visits major markets coast-to-coast, and concludes on December 4th in Santa Ana, CA at The Observatory Santa Ana. Earlier this year, the 22-year-old Denton, TX native first unveiled his debut album A Hometown Odyssey. Brought to life by Livingston who wrote and produced the album, it made major waves independently and has amassed more than 600 million impressions and over 100 million Spotify streams to date. It vaulted to #2 on the Spotify Album Debut UK Chart and #3 on the Spotify Album Debut US and Global Charts. Among many chart successes, “Last Man Standing” bowed on the Spotify Global Viral 50 Charts in the US, U.K., Sweden, Denmark, and Australia. Meanwhile, breakthrough single “Shadow” took flight as the #1 iTunes Global Song for over 24 hours upon release and cracked the Top 20 on the Spotify US and Global Viral Charts. It even boasted an appearance by Academy® Award winner J.K. Simmons for its “Introduction.” Not to mention, he was recently named YouTube’s “Artist On The Rise” in June.
Stay tuned for more to come from Livingston.
