Ever-changing electronic trio, When Saints Go Machine are turning off their machines to amplify an unheard, organic intensity on their new single, “Co-Star“. With roots back to the bands and sounds that once influenced the three members’ own musical upbringing, their new single, ’Co-Star’, pulls the listener into a colorful, organic pop universe with catchy, psychedelic undertones. Listen to it now below.
“Every day, around 100,000 commercial planes take off, and in one of them, I sat wishing I could jump out the window because I had lost one of life’s great loves. In a hotel room, the TV played all night while I couldn’t find peace. The nausea was overwhelming, like being locked in place, unable to act, while the world outside raged on. The only other people in the hotel restaurant were an elderly American couple – the man smoked a cigar, and the lighting was pure loneliness,” says lead singer Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild.
Nikolaj Manuel Vonsild, Jonas Kenton and Silas Moldenhawer have carved out their own sonic niche in Nordic music for more than 15 years. Fronted by Vonsild’s both intimate vibrato and ethereal vocals, the Copenhagen-based trio has become synonymous with uncompromising, genre-fluid electronic music on albums like ‘Infinity Pool’, ‘Konkylie’, and most recently the award-winning ‘Rosy’ from 2023.
New single, ‘Co-Star’ follows the widely acclaimed double-single, ‘Chainsaw / Trying’, which introduced the band’s new sound in the autumn of 2024 and immediately attracted significant international attention from influential media outlets like HUNGER (UK), COLORS (DE), and KUTX (US), while ’Chainsaw’ got heavy rotation on Danish radio.
While When Saints Go Machine works on completing what will be their 7th album, the band is set to embark on a nationwide tour of Denmark, highlighted by a show at Poolen in Copenhagen on November 21st.
