It seems like every month of 2017, a new “album of the year” dropped. Whether it was Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. that changed your life or if it was a smaller, unsigned artist like Virginia post-hardcore band pulses. that was pumping through your speakers throughout the majority of the year, there’s no denying that 2017 was a great year for music.
Even with the Halloween over and winter and the holidays quickly approaching, there is no shortage of great artists coming through Colorado in November. With the busy holiday season, it might be a bit difficult to make it out to every show you want to see, so we’ve narrowed down a list of ten must-see shows this month across Colorado.
As You Please, the new full-length album from Citizen finds the band at their most emotionally vulnerable and sonically versatile yet. The follow-up to their 2015 album, Everybody Is Going To Heaven, As You Please is a dynamic, energetic and experimental release, one that has given Citizen the chance to expand on their sound quite a bit, all while still delivering that trademark grit that listeners are accustomed to.
Sick of the summer concert season yet? We sure hope not, because things are finally in full swing and there are a ton of great shows coming through Colorado in July! Although some of the biggest festivals of the summer have come and gone already (both the Vans Warped Tour and Westward Music Showcase were last month) it was nearly impossible to choose the best shows in Denver and the surrounding areas this coming month. The result is ten diverse and exciting shows ranging from small (like local pop-punk band Almost, Maine‘s headliner at The Marquis) to massive (The Avett Brothers‘ annual stint at Red Rocks Amphitheatre) rock to pop to hip-hop.
