It always seems like spring and fall are the busiest times of the year for concerts and this October in Colorado is no exception. There are countless incredible artists (both local and touring) playing in Denver this month, but we’ve managed to narrow down things down to 13 shows that you can’t miss this month – a fitting number for the spookiest month of the year.
Have Mercy‘s new album might be titled Make The Best Of It, but frontman Brian Swindle has done a bit more than that so far this year. Album puns aside, Have Mercy have already had one hell of a 2017, and it’s only June. With their third studio album out now, the band is just wrapping up extensive tour dates with Real Friends, Tiny Moving Parts, Broadside and Nothing, Nowhere before hopping on the road to an acoustic tour alongside Chase Huglin later this summer.
The great thing about concert season in Colorado is that there is no shortage of diverse musical acts playing on any given night. No matter your speed or taste in music, you’re bound to find something that you enjoy, whether it’s a folk show at the intimate Lost Lake Lounge, a sold-out mainstream act at the renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre, or a full-fledged party at The Marquis Theater. With countless venues scattered all over the state, from big to small, DIY to the Pepsi Center, there’s a little bit of something for everybody.
Make The Best Of It, the third studio album from Baltimore’s Have Mercy is a perfect progression from their powerful and emotionally charged sophomore release, A Place Of Our Own. With three years between these two albums, the band has certainly had the chance to take a step back in order to hone in on a solid, yet slightly more mellow sound, and the outcome is a stunning, heartbreaking eleven song release.
