Cherry Gloom

Review by Dillon Crader As soon as I saw that Cherry was releasing a new 7 inch, I hopped on it as soon as I could. A big reason why I jumped on Cherry’s EP, Gloom is because I have been a big fan of all the bands and music coming out from Philadelphia right now, and as soon as I hit the play button on Gloom, I was not let down by this Philadelphia-based group. Cherry have created a very unique blend of music on this EP. Upon first listen, I sat for probably about fifteen minutes, trying to figure out what…

Overslept Ive Been Keeping to Myself

Review by Dillon Crader Colorado based band, Overslept are releasing their first full-length record, I’ve Been Keeping to Myself on December 12th. This release is nothing short of amazing. Upon listening to the album, it’s hard to believe that Overslept just a “local” band. The recording quality of I’ve Been Keeping to Myself blew me away, and the matured sound that Overslept creates in this release is astonishing. I guess I will go ahead and start off by mentioning how amazing Elias Armao’s vocals are in this release. As mentioned earlier, the vocals are matured and give this record an…

together PANGEA The Phage EP

Review by Dillon Crader The California based punk group, together PANGEA show no fear with the arrival of their new EP The Phage. The EP is very short and sweet with only 6 six songs, and leaves me really wanting more of this surf punk sound on this release. The EP as a whole is fantastic musically. Like I said, it is very heavily influenced by surf rock. Musically, this album had me hooked. The consistence of the fun and groovy guitar rhythms and exciting and pretty sounding guitar leads throughout the EP is a great strong point. The bass at the…

Post Season Such A Mess Greetings From Split EP

Review by Dillon Crader Post Season kicks off their split EP with Such A Mess with a very upbeat and excellent pop-punk sound that really puts their foot down in the pop-punk scene. Both of their songs, “Backroads” and “Never Tell Me The Odds” are substantial pop-punk tracks, however the only gripe I have is that I feel I have heard these songs before. This isn’t a bad thing though; overall, this split is very well put together and Post Season sounds fantastic with their two tracks, giving listeners a chance to really understand who they are and what they’re…

Looming Nailbiter

Review by Dillon Crader Looming’s first full-length album, Nailbiter, is a killer indie release. Looming’s sound is this perfectly composed indie-rock mixed with very beautiful melodies and guitar riffs that instantly hooked me. Vocalist Jessica Knight has a stunning and very unique voice that differs so much from any other band I have ever listened to before. Jessica’s voice throughout the album is a total stand out – the blend between her voice and the music is flawless. “Onwawd” has a very cool sound with vocals overlapping each other a little halfway through, and the result is goose-bump inducing. The…

Counterparts Tragedy Will Find Us

Review by Dillon Crader Tragedy Will Find Us is Counterparts fourth full-length album. Counterparts recently signed to Pure Noise Records, and I was interested to see if the direction of the band would differ going onto the new label, especially with the label being very “pop punk” friendly. My first thought listening to Tragedy Will Find Us was that Counterparts kept their sound that many people have seemed to cling to, which is awesome, but the album is something that I feel like I have already heard. The album does seem to lean a lot more towards metal-core compared to previous releases. There are a lot…
