Whatever 2016 meant for you, there’s no doubt that you had a great soundtrack to go along with it and so have we, which is why we’re sharing some of our personal favorite albums of this year with you!
If you’re like us and hate getting stuck inside your house during the gloomy winter months, you’ve probably been searching high and low for something to keep you busy – preferably a good show. Although there are significantly less touring bands coming through town this time of the year, there are still quite a few shows worth braving the cold and the snow to start off the new year on a good foot!
Porter Robinson and Madeon’s Shelter Live Tour is an otherworldly experience. Ever since returning home from the show in Denver last night, I’ve been trying to come up with the right words to properly explain it, and the only thing that comes to mind is unreal. What else would you expect from these two powerhouses, though? The Colorado stop of the collaborative tour sold out almost immediately after tickets went on sale, and although it would have been better suited for Red Rocks (if only it were still Summer) Porter Robinson and Madeon really made the Fillmore Auditorium come alive – something that proves to be challenging for many musicians.

Safe In Sound Festival brought booming speakers and heavy hitting electronic acts to Broomfield’s 1st Bank Center on Friday, November 4th. Despite the fact that the venue lies just outside the city limits of Denver Colorado, countless fans lined up outside the venue, taking advantage of the warmer fall weather to dress up (or down) for the night’s festivities. Alongside an incredible sound system, the evening’s lineup consisted of Decadon, Just A Gent, LAXX, Zomboy and Borgore.

In the days, weeks and even months following, we received a steady stream of messages, emails and comments from local music lovers who wanted to share some of their favorite bands with us, so by popular demand, we are back with a second installment of 20 Colorado Artists You Need To Know.
This is a love letter to Forty Fathoms, a thank you note for a band who has helped shape the Denver music scene for years and will continue to inspire other artists for even longer.
2016 was one hell of a year of 10-year anniversary tours for the Myspace-era emo kid in all of us. With extensive anniversary tours from bands like Underoath, Hawthorne Heights, Boys Like Girls, Cute Is What We Aim For and countless others, we’ve all relived our glory days in one way or another this year (sans embarrassing haircuts, I’m sure) which begs the question – what does 2017 hold?
On the heels of their emotional and highly anticipated new album, Three and only one day after their headlining performance at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium, Phantogram stripped things down and got intimate with fans at eTown Hall in Boulder, Colorado for a Tumblr IRL performance. Coupled with Ben Zank‘s stunning photographs inspired by the band’s music, this show was a visual and audio surprise for fans, as well as a learning experience.
