Modern Baseball have announced a surprise EP, MOBO Presents: The Perfect Cast EP featuring Modern Baseball. The EP is streaming now via Spin, and will be available for pay-what-you-want download tomorrow via Lame-O Records. CDs can also be ordered through Lame-O Records here. Over the past few months, Modern Baseball have released the singles, “Revenge Of The Nameless Ranger” and “The Thrash Particle.” Both songs are featured on the new EP, along with a remixed version of “Alpha Kappa Fall Of Troy The Movie Part Deux,” released earlier this year on Lame-O Records Strength In Weaknesssplit, and three other new songs. The EP was record by Jacob Ewald and Ian Farmer of Modern Baseball, mixed by Matt Schimelfenig and mastered by Ryan Schwabe.
In their interview with Spin, Modern Baseball also announce that their third LP, entitled Holy Ghost, will be coming to Run For Cover Records in 2016.

Modern Baseball have also recently announced reissues of The Nameless Ranger, their first ever EP and Couples Therapy, their 2012 split with Marietta. Remastered for vinyl by Ryan Schwabe, this is the first vinyl pressing of both records. Pre-orders for the 10″ of The Nameless Ranger and the 7″ of Couples Therapy are available via Lame-O Records.

Modern Baseball have always come up with innovative spin on old styled music. I love them. Listening to them yesterday, it reminded me of that film by the Coen brothers i.e. O Brother Where Art Thou. I hear you asking why is that. Simple answer – the soggy bottom boys.
