Watch Two Tongues’ New Video For “Azalea”

    By Dom VigilDecember 19, 2016

After a seven year break between records, Two Tongues (Max Bemis of Say Anything + Chris Conley of Saves The Day) recently released their second album, Two Tongues Two back in October, and now the duo have shared the music video for “Azalea,” the first song on the record.

The video, which premiered on Noisey alongside an in-depth interview is centered around two young children meant to represent Max and Chris (or their inner children). It follows the two carefree young men as they let their imagination run wild in an anarchistic day of reckless abandonment and adventure; much the way Max and Chris do with the Two Tongues project as a whole.

The video was created by grammy-nominated director Israel Anthem (Mutemath, Shiny Toy Guns) and was filmed/edited in a way that captures a really interesting dynamic between the perception of the world and one another from a child’s point-of-view (the energetic, personal feel of the VHS-style footage) vs. from an outside / adult view (the crisp, straightforward wide shots).
