JP SAXE has premiered his debut single “Changed” today with Ones To Watch, who called the single “an honest and poignant examination of those post-relationship emotional remnants.” Saxe created the single with producer Ryan Marrone (M83, Morgxn, and Little Monarch). After four years in L.A. working as a songwriter with the likes of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds,Foxes, and Jacob Banks, Saxe is now exploring new ground beginning his career as an artist.
“‘Changed’ started one day when I was walking home from the studio and it was abnormally cold for Los Angeles,” says Saxe. “For whatever reason, the feeling of my hands being freezing in L.A. made me remember someone I hadn’t thought about in a long time, which set me into this whole process of recognizing how much I’ve grown away from that part of my life. The song became about looking back on a past relationship and a past version of myself, and wondering what my responsibility is to all of that now.”
“Changed” is available now at all major music-streaming services. It is also featured on Spotify playlists Chill Vibes, New Indie Mix, and We Found New Music. JP Saxe is set to release new music independently later this summer.
