Story of the Year is giving fans another dose of new music with the premiere of their new song, “I Swear I’m Okay.” The track mixes the catchy lyrics and hooks that fans have come to expect from Story of the Year with the addition of 80’s synth that blend together seamlessly for a truly special track.
Of the song, singer Dan Marsala shares, “There’s definitely something special about ‘I Swear I’m Okay’. As soon as Ryan sent the demo over, ideas just started pouring out. I sat down to record some vocal ideas and the first thing that came out of my mouth was the line, ‘I Swear I’m Okay.’ It’s something that people say, to hide the fact that things aren’t truly okay. A mask that you wear when you don’t want to be honest with others or yourself. This song means that and so much more to me and it’s one of my proudest moments on the record.”
The single comes from upcoming album Wolves, due out December 8th, 2017. Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, New Found Glory, Acceptance) and mixed by Tom Lord-Alge & J Hall, their first full-length album since 2010 is a testament of howinspired and committed they are to making their best record yet. The upcoming album is full of depth as the band continues down a supercharged anthemic road of alternative rock/hard rock songs while remaining consistent to their classic Story of the Year soaring sound. Wolves is available for pre-order via Pledge Music now.
