Los Angeles rock n’ roll quintet The Soft White Sixties have released the music video for their latest single, “Brick By Brick.” The video features a collage of sensationalized news and exaggerated sound bites about American ideals, intertwined with live footage of the band.
“Brick by Brick” tackles the subject of Trump’s proposed border wall from the perspective of a first generation Mexican-American, front man Octavio Genera. Not wanting to be political, but demanding of themselves a certain amount of honesty and transparency, Genera wrote what was on his mind: “If you build a wall / we’re going to tear it down / brick by brick.”
The Soft White Sixties will be hosting 7” vinyl release parties at The Echo in Los Angeles January 18 th and at The Ritz in San Jose on January 20 th . A portion of ticket + vinyl sales will be donated to the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN-LA), a local organization that provides immigrant integration programs, immigration legal services, and fosters civic participation and community engagement on immigration policy, education reform and workers’ rights.
The band will also be heading to Austin for select SXSW showcases and then hit the road with Public Access T.V. for a spring tour in late March.
