Following their biggest album and Arena tour to date, Enter Shikari are sharing the music video “Take My Country Back” from their critically acclaimed Top 5 album The Spark. With the video release, the band is getting ready to head out for the Summer to play special live dates throughout the UK and Europe including festival headline slots at 2000 Trees and Boomtown in the UK.
The band are also excited to announce a warm up show at Hatfield’s The Forum venue: ‘A Local Show By Local People’ on 13th July, the day before they headline 2000 Trees Festival, and on 10th August ‘An Evening Spent In A Confined Space’ at The Joiners, Southampton*** before they headline the Town Centre Stage at Boomtown Festival in Winchester on 11th August. Full dates are listed below below and tickets available here from 10AM FRIDAY APRIL 20th at http://www.entershikari.com/shows
The video for “Take My Country Back” was made by long-time Enter Shikari fan, Max Graur, chosen by the band for his flair when they saw the animated video he made for “There’s A Price On Your Head,” taken from their fourth album The Mindsweep. Watch the video now below.
“Unfortunately the sentiment of this track still stands, more than 12 months after I wrote it. if anything, the atmosphere is worse than it was then. an increasingly hostile right-wing media acting as a megaphone for what we now know were exaggerations and outright lies, amplified by fake bot accounts on Twitter, reinforcing the prejudices of the ill-informed. It’s got a big chorus, though”. Rou Reynolds, Enter Shikari
A run of headline Scandinavian shows is also being announced to close out Enter Shikari’s 2018, which see the band returning to the region for the first time since supporting The Prodigy on their massive Invaders Must Die tour in 2009.
“It’s good to be playing a couple of new festivals, new to us anyway, this summer. I’ve heard good things about both 2000 Trees and Boomtown and they’ve both got awesome line-ups this year, plus we’re looking forward to interspersing the big festivals with a couple of club shows. With the last two UK tours being arena-sized, it’ll be nice to be back in sweaty rooms” Rou Reynolds, Enter Shikari
***Music Venue Trusts “Fightback” series is a run of 100 shows in small venues by bigger artists, to highlight the importance of grassroots music venues to the culture and economy of the country, and to raise money for the MVT’s Emergency Fund providing legal aid to venues threatened with closure.
