Hidden Hospitals have released their new single “Acid Rain,” taken from their forthcoming album, Liars, due out on May 18th. The band also announced their album release show, to take place on May 18th at Burlington Bar with support from Tiny Kingdoms and Hard Pet.
Fronted by vocalist and primary songwriter Dave Raymond, Hidden Hospitals’ sound oscillates around modern rock and cult electronica, with lyrics balancing everyday dualities from the first line— “I lost my fingers when I found my fists.” —to the last breath. Together, their created sound and story are a pulse of hope grounded in the reality of authentic relationships and experiences. Hidden Hospitals’ newest album, Liars, is the manifestation of a singular place, point in time, and frame of mind. “Acid Rain” is the latest piece of the album puzzle.
Raymond says on the track, “The excitement, wonder, and newness of life grows dull as we age. We trade happiness for safety and an ignorant sense of security. When the treadmill stops, are we at peace with never reaching our potential? Love now, be more, say what you mean. Move often, keep less, care about caring. Hurtful can be the conversations we never had. Deadly, the risks we didn’t take. ‘Acid Rain’ ticks a few of these boxes. A dark but buoyant song about “what if” told with guitars, drums, and the occasional falsetto.”
Fans can expect a music video for “Acid Rain” this spring. Liars will be available on all digital formats, and a limited vinyl exclusive via Spartan Records. The album can be pre-ordered HERE. In support of common sense gun control across America, the band is also offering a special digital version of the album including 3 bonus tracks, all profits from which will be donated directly to EveryTown.
