Denver power pop group, The Solid Ocean have finally released their highly anticipated new EP, What Could Have Been just in time for spring and summer! The catchy as hell release is sure to get stuck in your head (and make you want to dance), but don’t just take our word for it. The EP is now available for streaming below!
The Solid Ocean will celebrate the release of What Could Have Been tonight at Larimer Lounge with fellow locals The Midnight Club and Evinair.
The band said the following of their new release:
“This EP is a collection of songs that all tell a story. It is a commentary on regret which is why we named the EP “What Could Have Been.” But the regret that is presented in the EP takes many different forms.
The opening song on the EP, ‘Disappear’, is about breaking free from situations or relationships that have been holding you back and feeling regret for the times that have brought you down, but now being strong enough to break free. ‘Burning Inside’ is simply about being in love but two other song on the EP, ‘Sirens’ & ‘Too Late’ shows the pain and regret of letting that love go. And finally there is ‘Freaking Out’ which is probably our favorite song as a band. The song is about knowing who we are as people and what we stand for. It’s an anthem for anyone who has been misunderstood or marginalized unfairly. It’s about choosing love and acceptance and regretting ever giving those who would judge you any power over your life.
We hope that “What Could Have Been” really hits home with our listeners and we are excited to be putting out even more music in the near future.”
