Following up on her powerful break out single, “Too Fast, Too Soon,” indie-pop newcomer ZOLA has revealed her second single, “Blue“. ZOLA‘s soulful breathy vocals glide across minimalist instrumentals as the song climbs, culminating in a raw and compelling celestial explosion.
A recent graduate of University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, ZOLA is as a breathe of fresh air in the indie-pop landscape with her uniquely picturesque lyrics and synthesis of soul, jazz, R&B and indie-pop influences.
ZOLA launched her project with the release of “Too Fast, Too Soon” in late July and quickly garnered much-deserved blog buzz, even being added to Spotify’s influential Fresh Finds playlist. Alongside her solo pursuits, ZOLA is also one half of indie-pop duo Loom:ngs – with producer/writer Daniel Loumpourdis – who recently unveiled their debut EP, ‘Chapter One.’
ZOLA’s debut EP is set to be released this Fall and marks the beginning of a new era for ZOLA. Writing the majority of the EP throughout her freshman and sophomore years of college, the EP is very much an embodiment of the college experience. From young love to evolving friendships to body image, ZOLA’s EP takes the listener on an affecting and relatable journey.
