New Jersey-based indie rock band Wyland have released their new single “Nowhere Now” today. “Nowhere Now” will be featured on the band’s forthcoming EP In a Circuitry of Lonely, out in early 2019. In addition to releasing new music, the band has announced a supporting tour with Universal Canada artist Valley – all dates can be found below.
“I wrote the chorus to this song while in a hotel room in Austin, TX,” explains vocalist Ryan Sloan. “The verses came to life right before we left for Ireland. I was working a pretty horrible job at a prison in Hudson County, New Jersey where the rest of the song came pouring out. I don’t want to tell you specifically what the tune means to me because then it would become that for you. So instead, let the song speak for itself and your interpretation is all that matters.”
Wyland was formed in 2015, somewhere in the Meadowlands of New Jersey. The band began to grow in popularity from their “wildly theatrical” live performances in the underground music scene of New York City. Their sound eventually reached overseas to Ireland, where the band spent the better half of 2018 recording their new EP with producer Phil Magee (Kodaline, Miles Kane, The Academic). Since the release of their debut EP In a Sea of Things Unsaid (2016), the band has amassed over 500,000 streams on Spotify and received regular radio spins at stations like KROQ (Los Angeles), Alt 98.7 (Los Angeles), KCRW (Los Angeles NPR affiliate), KEXP (Seattle NPR affiliate), and BBC (UK).
A music video for “Nowhere Now” will be released in January, and fans can expect more new music from the band leading up to the release of their EP. Be sure to keep up with Wyland on Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram.
