Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers have released the music video for “Apocalypse Now (& Later)” off their brand new, critically acclaimed debut album, Bought to Rot (stream and purchase). Helmed by Marfa, TX-based filmmaker Emily Esperanza, “Apocalypse Now (& Later)” presents a serene take on relationships amid the chaos we all face in our daily lives via a vintage clip that looks as if it were lifted from the vaults of 120 Minutes. Check out the video for “Apocalypse Now (& Later)” streaming on YouTube below.
An album that has received praise from The Associated Press, NPR, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Billboard, Paste, Brooklyn Vegan and many more, Bought to Rot is a record scorched with honesty across its 14 tracks, unapologetically confessional, capturing many moments snipped from Grace’s life and stitched together in song. As a complete body of work, the album stands as the most musically diverse collection of songs Grace has written to date, and is what she affectionately calls her “Scorpio” record – redolent in sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll.
Additionally, the band has just announced their upcoming Spring 2019 North American headline tour. Featuring supports Mercy Union, the New Jersey rock quartet featuring Jared Hart of The Scandals and Benny Horowitz of The Gaslight Anthem, and Control Top, the tour will take in 29 evenings across the U.S. and Canada and will begin with a visit to Austin, TX for the 2019 SXSW Music Festival.
