Rival Sons have announced plans for their first full North American headline tour. The dates include stops at New York’s Brooklyn Steel, Philadelphia’s Union Transfer and Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Theatre. The Sheepdogs will support all US dates.
Pre-sales begin Wednesday, December 5th at 10:00 AM local time; all remaining tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, December 7th at 10:00 AM local. For complete details, please visit www.rivalsons.com.
The upcoming tour schedule marks the release of Rival Sons’ much-anticipated new album, FERAL ROOTS which arrives everywhere on January 25th via Low Country Sound/Atlantic Records.
FERAL ROOTS was produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Dave Cobb at Nashville’s famed RCA Studio A, and the equally legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, AL. The album is available for pre-order HERE. Exclusive pre-order bundles are also available via www.rivalsons.com, including limited edition vinyl and autographed lithographs of the album’s cover art, painted by renowned contemporary artist Martin Wittfooth. All pre-orders are joined by instant grat downloads of the recently released album tracks, “Do Your Worst,” and “Back In The Woods.”
The primal intensity of FERAL ROOTS reflects a certain unrest at the heart of the album, sparked by vocalist Jay Buchanan’s recent move to Tennessee. “With all the stimuli we’re constantly receiving these days, I think a lot of people have a desire to live with more freedom and simplicity,” noted vocalist Jay Buchanan. “There’s a longing for your truer nature to prevail, and to reclaim some sort of wildness.” But with its nuanced explorations of art and love and truth, FERAL ROOTS ultimately argues for pushing beyond pure survival instincts and striving for something more exalted: an unbreakable commitment to creating beauty of your own.
Rival Sons are also set for a special headline performance at 98.9 The Bear’s Electric Christmas, on December 15th at Fort Wayne, IN’s Pierre’s Entertainment Center.
