Driver Friendly Share New Song, “I Can Take It”

    By Dom VigilJanuary 9, 2019

Nashville-by-way-of-Melbourne songstress WILSN has had one hell of a year so far.

Driver Friendly has returned today with the release of “I Can Take It“, their first new song since 2014’s studio album, Unimagined Bridges, which was released through Hopeless Records. The song is taken from Driver Friendly’s upcoming EP ‘Ceremony‘, which will be released on January 25th. Fans can pre-order through iTunes at this link: https://apple.co/2C6BJl4

“We always felt bad about disappearing a few years ago,” the band says in a joint statement. “To make up for our “ghosting” we want this EP release and show to serve as a “thank you” to our amazing fans. As of right now we’re not sure what the future holds for us. While we are happily pursuing other avenues of life, we know that the band will always be an essential part of who we are. But let us be clear: we’re not closing any doors to the future and this is not the closing ceremony. Rather we hope this release satisfies and energizes our audience to push us towards that next project – whatever musical form it might take”

The band also has announced an upcoming reunion and release show at Barracuda in Austin, Texas on February 2nd. Tickets for the show are available now at this link: https://bit.ly/2VGjLyu

Driver Friendly has and will always be Tyler Welsh, Andy Lane, Jeremi Mattern, Juan Lopez and Chris Walker. In 2012, they caught the attention of Tom Hanks when they released the music video for “Messidona” which was a tribute to him. They have released three albums – Chase the White Whale, Bury A Dream and Unimagined Bridges– all of which can be streamed now on Spotify or Apple Music.

In their busiest time as a band, they were chosen as one of MTV’s ’30 Criminally Artists We Couldn’t Stop Obsessing Over’ and as one of NPR’s Austin 100. They have toured with bands such as Motion City Soundtrack, The Wonder Years and Seaway.
