Juice Shares Video for New Track, “DAVE”

    By Dom VigilJanuary 11, 2019

The release week for Cleveland based post-hardcore band Motives’ new album, Death Throes couldn’t have come at a worse time (the album dropped on March 13th, right when many states across the U.S. began implementing stay at home orders due to COVID-19) but the band is certainly making the most of it.

Seven-piece band Juice release the video for their new song “DAVE” today. Directed by Logan Regnier, the video is the perfect visual to showcase the song’s pulsating beats, lyrical Easter eggs, and the instrumental climax punctuated by distorted violin and guitar. The video follows Dave, a frustrated conservative man, as he struggles against kids, their loud music, and everything they represent, throughout the years.

“‘DAVE’ is a lot of things. It’s hip-hop, it’s Easter eggs, it’s social and political commentary, but most importantly it’s a portrait of an angry old guy,” says Christian Rose, the band’s violinist.

Juice also recently announced their headlining Winter/Spring tour, which kicks off in Seattle and wraps in Philadelphia. The tour marks the band’s first time performing on the West Coast. Click HERE for more info.

Last year was a significant one for the band with the release of their latest project Workin’ on Lovin.’ The project highlights the band’s diverse signature sound that covers an array of sensations with songs like “Sugar,” the soaring single that features airtight raps, radiant chorus harmonies, stomping handclaps, and gospel-style backing vocals. PRESS HERE to listen and  PRESS HERE to watch the video. Tying into the release of Workin’ on Lovin,’ Juice was selected as Elvis Duran’s Artist of the Month in August and performed “Sugar” on The Today Show, PRESS HERE to watch. The band rounded out the year with the release of their track “Audrey Tell Me,” PRESS HERE to listen.

With seven distinct personalities, Juice distills rock, pop, and hip-hop into a signature sound with a flavorful kick of electric violin, rich harmonies, honest lyrics, and festival-worthy choruses. The Boston septet – Ben Stevens (lead vocals), Christian Rose(violin, vocals), Kamau Burton (acoustic guitar, vocals), Daniel Moss (guitar), Michael Ricciardulli (guitar), Rami El-Abidin (bass), and Miles Clyatt (drums) – perfects this mix on their latest EP.

After forming at Boston College in 2014, Juice honed their live performance through constant gigging, displaying an original raw energy. Soon, they went from frequent gigs at the city’s famed Middle East to selling out East Coast hotspots such as Brighton Music Hall, Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, and more. Hitting Summerfest Milwaukee in 2016, Juice impressively won the grand prize of the festival’s “Land The Big Gig” Competition and opened for pop juggernaut DNCE at the festival a year later, where they met Grammy-nominated producer Johnny K, who worked with them on Workin’ on Lovin.’
