Fueled By Ramen recording artist grandson has announced details of a brand new EP, a modern tragedy vol. 2, set to arrive on February 22nd. The EP is highlighted by the lead single “Apologize,” which can be heard now below and is available at all DSPs.
Volume 2 of the modern tragedy series follows grandson’s Fueled By Ramen debut EP, a modern tragedy vol. 1, and is an exploration into the heart, into addiction, into power, into disillusionment, and into accepting who you are and not compromising. Marking some of his most personal work to date, a modern tragedy vol. 2 touches on the environment around grandson and serves as a commentary on gun violence, on apathy and sensationalized media, on truth and martyrdom.
On February 22nd grandson will kick off his North American “No Apologies Tour” at Montreal, QC’s Petit Campus. The tour – which features support from The Blue Stones and Just John x Dom Dias (2/22 – 3/1), followed by Des Rocs and BarlowLN (3/6 – 4/5) – is set to traverse North America through early April (see attached itinerary). grandson celebrated the tour announcement by unveiling a new official live video for “Despicable,” filmed live in London during his fall 2018 tour. a modern tragedy vol. 1, released this past summer, finds grandson confronting some of the most pressing political and social issues impacting his generation, provoking discourse through a powerful union of art and activism. The five-song EP, which has garnered over 75 million streams, is highlighted by the lead single “Blood // Water”. The track’s official music video – directed by Ride or Cry – is streaming now via the official Fueled By Ramen YouTube channel HERE.
In addition, an official video for the EP’s “6:00” premiered via Billboard who declared, “ he’s making music to send a message — and his latest video is no exception.” Directed by Gus Black, the clip was released in conjunction with Campaign Zero, an activist campaign dedicated to eradicating police violence in America. “6:00” can be viewed now via the official grandson YouTube channel HERE.
2018 also saw the release of grandson’s BLOOD // EDITS, an all-new remix EP featuring five exclusive remixes of “Blood // Water” created by such luminaries as Tom Morello, AWOLNATION, Krupa, King Kavalier, and 22 Bullets & Ghost. The EP is available now at all streaming services HERE.
grandson has spent much of the past year on the road, including tours alongside Nothing But Thieves, Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers, Joywave, and Rat Boy.
