One week ahead of their highly-anticipated third incarnation of the Love You Down Festival celebrating the creative scene of East LA, SWIMM have surprised fans with a reinterpretation of their beloved single “Windows” – which they’ve titled “Windows Up”. “Windows Up” is dramatically different than the original track which was featured on the band’s 2018 debut full-length, Sentimental Porno. While it doesn’t lose any of the ethereal ambiance of “Windows”, this new version is considerably more upbeat and closer to how the band play it live where it has become a fan favorite moment of their set.
You can listen to it now on Spotify and most of your other favorite streaming services.
The track comes just ahead of the 3rd annual Love You Down Festival going down February 7th and 8th at The Echo + Echoplex. This year, the band will be pairing with Warpaint, who will be celebrating their fifteenth anniversary as a band, to host the two day festival celebrating East LA’s eclectic art scene. This year’s lineup will feature a handful of the most talented artists emerging from Los Angeles right now including Warpaint, SWIMM, Gardens and Villa, Sego, Goldensuns and Rugby Wild. There will also be representatives from a wide array of artistic mediums and small businesses, as well as, DJ sets from Devendra Banhart, Jenny Lee (of Warpaint), Jamie Hince (of The Kills), and The Entire Universe among others. You can find more details and purchase your tickets for LYD III here, and check out the official art for the event by legendary Los Angeles artist, Kii Arens.
