Ra Ra Riot is excited to announce their first European and UK headline tour in eight years. The 10-date trek has the band kicking things off in Amsterdam on December 2nd and visiting Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Zurich, Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester before ending the run in London on December 12th. The winter UK and EU tour has the band on the road supporting their forthcoming new LP Superbloom – due out August 9th via Rob the Rich Recordings/Caroline. The new album is the band’s fifth and first new full-length studio release in nearly four years. They dropped news of Superbloom last month with the release of album track “Flowers” which was co-written and co-produced by longtime friend and collaborator Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, Maggie Rogers, Clairo). Rostam also worked with the band on current single and album track “Bad To Worse” as well as 2016’s incredibly successful single “Water” – which has gone on to stream more than 75 MILLION times.
As their most extravagantly realized work to date, Superbloom finds Ra Ra Riot taking a decidedly pop-minded approach to the album-making process. In shedding their inhibitions, Ra Ra Riot ultimately created an impossibly radiant album, a selection of songs powered by imaginative yet indelible melodies. At the same time, the band maintains the offbeat eclecticism they’ve embraced since first forming as a baroque-pop outfit back in the mid-2000s, embedding Superbloom’s lavish arrangements with elements of psychedelia, new wave, punk and country.
Ra Ra Riot is currently on the Summer Gods Tour in the US with Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind that has them on the road until August 3rd and the UK/EU tour kicks off December 2nd.
